HPLC Column
HPLC COLUMN
CUSTOMER CHALLENGE
A customer making HPLC columns for separating and identifying components of liquid samples found that particulates in contaminated samples were causing valves to stick open. They also needed solenoid valves that could operate at 200 psi, roughly four times the typical level, to manage high sample volumes.
NORGREN SOLUTION
Norgren modified a proven Kloehn 2-way solenoid valve with a stronger spring and coil to meet the 200 psi requirement. Then they innovated a manifold assembly that delivered the fluidic performance and functioning of a 3-way valve while keeping contaminants out of the HPLC column.
