New Featherweight Tooling saves energy, increase robot capacity, speed

New Featherweight Tooling saves energy, increase robot capacity, speed

Less really is more with new IMI Norgren Featherweight Tooling from IMI Precision Engineering. Because it is up to 70% lighter than existing modular tooling, it can consume less energy, increase robot speed and carry more cups. It also has a ball clamp that allows the crossbar to be positioned closer to the panel, which helps speed up press automation.

Lightweight tooling causes less wear and tear on crossbars and robots, helping reduce downtime and prolong equipment life. When maintenance is required, an easy-access bolt head on the bracket arms allows operators to make adjustments while the tooling is on the crossbar.

IMI Norgren Featherweight Tooling is a direct replacement for existing tooling. It is already available in bracket arm lengths ranging from 100mm to 800mm in 25mm increments and additional size ranges will be introduced over the next six months.
