Norgren Air-Saving system enables the Smart Crust Breaker to run at the minimum pressure required to overcome crust resistance resulting in the minimum air consumption possible.

• Generally the cylinder will operate at around 2 bar with minimal crust resistance
• The cylinder thrust will increase automatically to overcome crust resistance
• Improved seal material ensures decreased air-loss in the system
• Savings approaching 57% are possible, and further savings are being targeted by the design team

For every 10 cylinders currently in use, another 4 can be operated without the need to invest in any additional compressed air capacity.

Considerable energy savings will be made if significantly less compressed air is consumed.
