Norgren Responsible Business

Responsible business, corporate social responsibility and sustainability are all names for the same thing basically businesses taking action in caring for the environment and its employees.

Norgren’s responsible business efforts focus around four main areas:

  • Health and Safety
  • Customer Engagement
  • Supplier risk management
  • Energy efficiency

Health and safety:

Norgren is committed to preventing accidents through hazard identification and risk reduction combined with continual auditing of health, safety and environmental practices. Performance here is monitored through lost time accident (LTA) rates with reduction targets set.

Energy efficiency:

We need to ensure that our products and practices assist us in emphasising efficiency by reducing the amount of energy used, materials needed and waste generated in production. As one of the leaders in the field of pneumatics we are working with our customers to ensure that they optimise their use of compressed air on a daily basis, thus reducing their energy usage requirements. We also manufacture products that reduce emissions in vehicles, trains and manufacturing plants.

Customer engagement:

We are actively identifying and communicating with customers who are engaged in responsible business practices, developing a responsible business model, or are in need of an introduction to this subject. We provide our sales team the opportunity to introduce our most efficient products and to drive forward customer’s responsible business efforts.

Resource efficiency is considered during design, manufacture, use and at end of life. We also have a range of products with specific safety related features to assist customer’s products and processes operate with minimised risk.

Supplier risk management:

Norgren chooses to only work with suppliers who are as committed to responsible business practices as we are. We conduct audits to ensure that metrics are maintained.
