This past Autumn, from September 25th to October 2nd, Norgren GVT was present at the IAA Commercial Vehicles show, which occurs bi-annually in Hanover Germany. The IAA is known as the world's largest Commercial Vehicles fair, and it did not fail to disappoint. With over 2,048 exhibitors, 258 world premiers, and nearly 300,000 visitors from 110 countries, it was definitely a success and further confirmed its status as the world's most important trade fair for mobility, transport and logistics.
For Norgren GVT, this was the opportunity to present ourselves in a new light as a result of our corporate re-branding which took place during the first half of 2008. Our new image was successfully presented, with emphasis placed on our new logo, our global presence and our engineering capabilities. Additionally, we had an excellent stand location in hall 26.

An eye-catcher at our stand this year was the "golf table" (see picture below), which was designed and built specifically for the IAA show by the GVT Engineering Advantage Group from MIRA ("Motor Industry Research Association", U.K.). Air springs in various sizes were mounted underneath a table and were controlled by Norgren GVT air suspension valves. The valves would then control the raising and lowering of the table corners independently. The intention was to demonstrate that it is possible to fill and dump air from air spring valves under proportional height control using the GVT high speed modulation valves.
The top of the table resembled a golf course and the players had to balance and navigate a golf ball through the course and into the last hole using a hand-held control device which controlled the height of the table's corners. The table was constantly in use and it was also an attraction for photographers.
This was built using our own valve technology, and not only did it provide an actual example of our products in action, it proved to be a fun game for many of our visitors!
