TRANSMISSION & GEARBOX CONTROL Another important component or measure in increasing fuel efficiency as well as increasing the safety level and comfort level of the driver is the transmission system. More OEM's are looking at ways in which they can decrease the shifting forces with Manual Transmissions, and ways in which they can optimize the control of Automated Systems.   Norgren GVT has a number of current solutions that we have developed for our customers include XY Shift, Clutch Control and Split/Range Shift Control that help them in the above mentioned areas. RETARDER CONTROL Retarders play an important role in the braking function of a vehicle, acting as both a secondary braking system and as a speed limiter, which is vital in situations such as downhill driving. Both functions are fullfilled by the Retarder which is actually a completely Wear Free system.   By having appropriate retarder control, you can relieve the burden which would otherwise be placed on the vehicles primary braking system. With the Retarder, no wear and tear is placed on the tires, the braking pads, the transmission or the engine.
