Current Passenger and Commercial Vehicles today have a lot of waste in terms of heat energy which has been created via the fuel combustion process, but then rather then being used, it is lost as it is dumped out into the environment.
Rather than loosing this potential source of energy, many OEM's are looking at how they can capture and utilize it. This is especially important as we look to the future as this represents another source of emissions reductions as well as an increase in the engine's efficiency.
Norgren GVT recognizes the importance of this application area, and is working on a number of possible solutions. |

One solution is our Steam Generation for Waste Heat Recovery. Instead of letting the exhaust heat escape, it is instead managed and used to generate steam. The generated steam is then re-routed back into the powertrain system so that it can generate power for the auxiliary devices. Using our experienced gained from several years of exhaust boiler development involving engine testing, we were able to develop a recovery system that includes a pump, boiler, and a high temperature valve manifold with a control system. |
