Illustrating its focus on increasing efficiency in the rail sector, Norgren is showcasing its new range of Lightweight Aluminium Fittings. Addressing the industries drive to reduce its environmental impact, the aluminium fittings contribute to increased efficiency through dramatic weight savings over conventional materials.

They can replace conventional fittings in most pneumatic applications including auxiliary systems, door controls and brakes.

• Pre-assembled units
• No special assembly tools or heat required
• Can be remade without damage to tube
• For use on seam welded as well as seamless tube or pipe – Copper, stainless steel or nylon tubing can be used
• Thinner tube can be used; as thin as 0,8 mm wall thickness
• Lower torque requirement on the tube nut than fittings which bite into the tube
• Will cope with tube misalignment of +/-4°
• Corrosion resistant AL2 alloy - PED 97/23/EC
• Approximately 65% lighter than brass or stainless steel fittings
