INTERNAL DOOR CONTROL SYSTEM

CUSTOMERAPPLICATION

The customer is a major supplier of components to the rail industry, manufacturing a wide range of products from major repairable components to consumables. Included within their product range, the supplier offers an internal door control system, using valves to control a pneumatic system.

BUSINESSCHALLENGE

The existing Norgren door control system worked reliably but due to the fact it was an old product, the customer requested that a new solution be provided to replace the obsolete design. The new control system needed to fit into the same space as the previous design, whilst delivering the same function.

NORGRENSOLUTION

The solution provided by Norgren's design team used the same design for the sub-base and valve assembly but also included a customised interface plate in order to incorporate the new coil assembly onto the existing body.

By visiting the customer's site, Norgren's engineers were able to fully understand the customer's situation and offer a tailored solution to overcome the problem. The new door control system also means that the customer has access to improved support with replacement parts readily available from Norgren.
