The customer is a major company in the railway brake and railway component supplying arenas. The products are used for all types of railway vehicles and in a wide range of climates. Pneumatics are used in train braking systems and air horns, and the customer requirement fell into this area of maintaining air quality under these demanding conditions.

BUSINESSCHALLENGE

The customer required a compact and lightweight air filter and dryer system, together with other robsust, proven Norgren products for the demanding requirements of railway applications including main line filters, filter regulators, and solenoid valves for air systems associated with brakes and horns.

NORGRENSOLUTION

Norgren's engineers developed a complete product package for the customer. This included a modular 3-stage 68 series filter assembly with special Webber solenoid drains, W74M series membrane dryers, S/500 heavy duty check valves, brass Y-strainers, Buschjost diaphragm and Webber solenoid valves to meet special voltage requirements.

In this project Norgren exceeded customer expectations by not only offering standard or adapted parts, but offering a fully customised product package for the customer, aimed at helping them to meet their own customer's requirements. This package solution also helped to ensure compatibilty and reliability for the customer, with all parts in the package designed for the job in hand.
