Norgren Inc. headquarters provides pneumatic components for First® Robotics Competition (FRC)
Norgren Americas, headquartered in Littleton, is a supply sponsor of the 2012 First® Robotics Competition (FRC), providing pneumatics components that are included in 2,000 kits given to competing teams nationwide.
FRC combines the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. Under strict rules, teams of 25 students or more are challenged to build a problem-solving robot in a six-week timeframe using a standard “kit of parts” and a common set of rules. High-school students get to build and compete with a robot of their own design.
Norgren supplies multiple components as a way to directly support their technology-related industry. “Educational support is very important.” says Product Marketing Manager Kevin Curtin, “We believe investing in students to get them excited about science and technology is essential to bring up the next generation of engineers and innovators, who could one day work for a company like Norgren.”
Competitions are held throughout the country; the Colorado Regional competition is scheduled for the weekend of March 22-24 at the University of Denver’s Daniel L. Ritchie Center.
