The role of the agriculture sector is pivotal as global pressures around the effective and efficient production of foodstuffs increase.
With projections that the world’s population will reach 9.7 billion by 2050, and conscious of the impending climate change emergency, how countries cultivate, harvest, and distribute essential food produce will determine societal success and future quality of life for many around the globe.
New solutions continue to be developed to increase crop yields, better manage harvests, and help to develop alternative solutions to global pressures. Norgren has solutions that help equipment manufacturers design, develop, and produce solutions to feed the world.

Crop spraying
For traditional agricultural scenarios, Norgren is a strategic partner for sprayer OEMs. Robust and reliable, our solutions also mitigate material handling issues which can lead to expensive downtime and lost productivity hours.
Nozzle control can address challenges surrounding targeted spraying and curve control, together with the requirement to save water, while ensuring the chemicals in use go as far as possible.
Made from robust, chemical-resistant materials, Norgren’s precision-based pulse with modulation (PWM) nozzle control valves control pressure and flow on agricultural boom sprayers to ensure spraying levels are always optimised. They are designed specifically to handle viscous media and mitigate material handling issues such as fertiliser clogging which can lead to costly downtime, lost productivity hours and sub-optimal crop treatment.
Irrigation
Irrigation for indoor-growing crops requires optimum control of nozzle systems to ensure the correct application of a predetermined quantity of water and other media, to avoid over or under-application and minimal waste.
Norgren’s fluidic systems enable precise and targeted irrigation. Our components can be utilised in the design to deliver water at specific flow rates, pressure levels, and patterns, ensuring that each plant receives the required water and nutrients. This targeted approach enhances crop health and growth, reducing water and fertiliser usage.
Norgren Irrigate is a precision farming management system that allows users to monitor, analyse, control, and automate indoor farms. Its modularity allows the mixing and matching of features and facilitates the best yield ratios. The irrigation module uses real-time data from sensors to automatically irrigate and reduce unwanted and expensive water loss, whilst light modules produce precise lighting conditions to support all crop growth stages and cut energy use.
Norgren’s nozzle systems can be integrated into your data acquisition system to measure nutrient levels, air dryness, temperature, soil moisture and light intensity, and processing data to inform strategic and operational decision-making.
